Beginner’s Guide to Fly Fishing: Live Zoom Class with Skip Morris

This is a paid event.

Join us for a special live Zoom online class, not a prerecorded video, where your instructor will be present throughout to answer questions and provide clarification as he teaches.

Fly fishing can be deeply rewarding, but it’s also initially confusing. Questions like when to fish a river, where to find fish, or which fly to choose are common. This class offers critical answers.

Your instructor, Skip Morris, author of 18 books and over 300 magazine articles on fly-fishing, including “Survival Guide for Beginning Fly Anglers”, will guide you. He’ll use slides to illustrate key points and show live demonstrations of recommended flies, rods, reels, and more.

Topics covered include:

  • Casting
  • Identifying fish locations in rivers and lakes
  • Catching popular fish species (trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, and pan-fishes)
  • Knot tying and selection
  • Tackle selection
  • Fly selection and usage

Take notes as you’ll receive a printed handout in the mail after the class, which you can combine with your notes.

A Zoom link will be emailed to you a couple of days before the class. Make sure to provide your email and physical mailing address for the link and handout. You will also have lifetime access to the recorded session, which will available to you in your class dashboard.

The class is limited to 6 students for personalized attention.
